Tavares was invisible right up until he scored. First time I heard Giroux's name was when he served the too many men penalty late in the third. Vlasic was brutal too. But I guess when the team is stacked this big some elites can take the night off and still win.

Could add Stamkos to that list as well. He hasn't been much of a threat in these games.

If the responses on this board to Wolrd cup blogs (all of them) are any indication at all then the NHL is failing miserably with this side show. Not sure what the final tallies were but the radio people were saying right before puck drop the other day that the stadium was only 1/4 full. Maybe the "games that count" will change that but I am not the least bit impressed so far. A gimmicky, meaningless (a basically one off tourny to tell who is the best? please) risky competition. When does real hockey start?
